The Simpson Barracks Community Centre was established in 1992 with the goal to ensure all members of the local Defence community has access to information and assistance.

The Simpson Barracks Community Centre provides information, programs and functions for Defence families posted to Simpson Barracks, Vic Barracks and bases in the Greater Melbourne area including Melbourne University Regiment (MUR) Recruiting, Ringwood, Oakleigh and Broadmeadows.

We provide a diverse range of social groups and activities, for both adults and children, offering groups and programs, on Base and in the local community.

We also administer and encourage use of our very active on line community.

We produce a quarterly newsletter, the Simpsons Voice, to ensure we connect with as many families as possible.

The Simpson Barracks Community Centre has an in house support referral service offered by our friendly and engaging coordinator who is well connected with the Defence and local community. The committee and coordinator consults with as many of our families as possible to identify the immediate and longer term needs of all the Defence families associated with the centre.

Groups and programs are planned and implemented to enable us to meet the needs of our membership, with the aim of promoting community engagement and self-confidence.
